Very Fine Native American Northwest Klickitat Fully Imbricated Human Figure Basket by Master Weaver Elsie Thomas. Elsie Thomas, considered the best Klickitat basket maker of her time. I have a pretty good collection of Klickitat baskets by Nettie Kuneki Jackson and Elsie Thomas. I know that Elsie Thomas did not sign her basket but there is Elsie Thomas written on bottom of the basket (little faded). I’m assuming this was written by someone who had owned this beautiful basket and not Elsie Thomas. This basket dates probably between 1950’s to 1970’s. I would guess more in the 70’s. The baskets are in good shape overall with wear and some loose imbrication. Please see photos as part of description. Feel free to ask me any questions and I will gladly answer any questions you might have. Thank you, 9.2″H x 8.10″W x 8.10D Weights approximately Under 1LB. Elsie Thomas B1910 2007 was regarded as best Klickitat basket maker/weaver of her time. She is also mother in law to another master weaver Nettie Kuneki Jackson.
